Wayfinding & Signages
MCCI, a cancer center, adopts a wayfinding which fosters a sense of orientation and subtly reinforces its ethos of care and renewal. The wayfinding strategy for this cancer centre evolved from the brand character of propagation and draws on spatial cues that are intuitive and symbolic, enabling users to move through the space with ease.
Purposeful navigation systems are embedded into the spatial narrative. Incomplete green circles, carefully scaled and placed to continue seamlessly onto adjacent walls, create a visual rhythm in corridors. This recurring motif symbolises renewal and propagation, a cycle of healing, while gently leading the eye and body forward.
Large numbers mark each outpatient room, ensuring clarity and minimising confusion. Directions are conveyed in crisp white lettering set against a green circle backdrop, allowing high contrast and immediate visibility even from a distance. The integration of these wayfinding elements into the spatial fabric ensures that movement through the centre feels intuitive, purposeful, and aligned with its healing mission.
